First Acquaintance

Hello dolly mommas! Let's get acquainted, shall we?

My love for dolls in adulthood discovered itself after I had purchased one from Paola Reina brand. Her name is Kleo and I'm very fond of her. At some point I realised I wanted to make outfits for this cutie. Since then, my main hobby has been knitting, crocheting and also handcrafting some small accessories. With me being rather picky about materials, yarn used in my outfits differs in compound, thickness and colour, often allowing for sophisticated patterns in different styles. Seemingly, it's what other doll collectors admire, so quite a few of the outfits have left my atelier for new happy owners.

It wasn't until I bought a Little Darling by Dianna Effner that my love for dolls reached a new level. Renée, that's her name, is such a happy doll because she tries on every new outfit I happen to make. I have to confess, though, that my craftsmanship is not confined to designs of my own. Quite often I find it very educational to reproduce stunning outfits from the photographs that I come across on social media. I really admire the talents of others and so does my dolly. Also, I once familiarised myself with ball-jointed dolls. Flexibility of such has me very intrigued, so I'm looking to purchase a BJD in the future.

In this blog, I'm going to share the photographs of my latest outfits for 13-inch Little Darlings. I tend to come up with a batch of various outfits for a given topic that inspires me. Hence the first selection. It's about Easter.
